03 – Kajiwara syokuhin

Yuzu pepper making experience

Fresh chili peppers of varying spiciness are made using pesticide-free yuzu peel. This is a yuzu pepper-making workshop where you can adjust the spiciness to suit your preferences

04 – Inoue shuzo

Sake brewery tour

You can tour the process from raw materials to the creation of sake. You'll also have the opportunity to hear about the passion and thoughts behind sake brewing

Pear harvesting experience

Experience harvesting ripe, juicy, and sweet seasonal pears, where the juice bursts out when cut. You can take home the harvested pears. Available seasonally

Sawmill tour

Locally sourced Hita cedar is milled from logs and primarily used for flooring materials. You can observe the entire process and receive a cedar souvenir as part of the experience

Pottery making tour

You can visit and observe pottery-making activities carried out in nine kilns that have a history of over 300 years and continue to uphold their traditions. There is also a pottery museum available.

13 – Aizawa shitugei koubo

Workshop tour

You can learn the techniques of traditional lacquerware directly from artisans who uphold the traditions of Hita. Additionally, there are workshops available for kintsugi (golden joinery)

14 – Tanaka chouchin koubo

Lantern painting experience

You can experience painting original designs on pre-made paper lanterns during a painting workshop. Additionally, at the on-site 'Temari Workshop,' you can try your hand at making temari (traditional Japanese handballs).
